Water Mitigation For Wallpapered Wall
4/9/2021 (Permalink)

When walls are wet, wallpaper acts as a vapor barrier and restricts our ability to dry it. Special drying measures may be needed when this barrier is present.
Here are a few tips on helping to dry out your home faster and more efficiently when sheetrock covered in wallpaper is wet
- Peel away covering to expose wet drywall
- If mold or microbial growth is present behind the wall, air movement can spread mold or microbial growth spores throughout the structure
- Perforate the wall to ventilate
- Remove baseboard to ventilate the wall cavity
