Many residents in our service area are currently facing the eminent threat of wildfires. SERVPRO is not only here to restore your home after a natural disaster but we are also here to share tips regarding evacuations and protecting your home during a natural disaster. Ways to protect your home: Clean debris out of the gutters; remove yard debris surrounding your home; water the perimeter, bark, grass, and trees; Keep windows and doors closed at all times; Trim trees or Limbs that could cause damage; Repair loose window screens; Move flammable materials away from exterior walls. Preparing yourself for an evacuation: Gather important documents (Id’s, Birth Certificates, Social Security Cards, proof of insurance, medical records, passports, list of personal contact; Have a go bag ready. This should consist of at least one week's worth of clothing. Emergency food to last at least one week. As the threat of evacuation gets closer to heavily populated cities ensure you are staying updated with your local Sheriff’s office and fire department. Once a level 2 evacuation has been declared it is best to evacuate as quickly as possible. Mass evacuations during a level 3 evacuation can cause traffic jams and clog exit routes. As always, SERVPRO is here to help you restore your home and belongings after a natural disaster.
