• Public fire departments responded to 1,319,500 fires in 2017.• 499,000 were structure fires- a 5% increase from 2016.
• 72% of the structure fires were home fires. This is a 1% increase over 2016.
Structure fire trends are going the wrong direction. Let’s do our part to reduce home fires. Your local fire department has very good information on how to prevent fires. Stop by and see them, they would much rather meet you in their housethan in yours!
